                                                                                                                       Matthew Cunningham

On Tuesday, January 12 Matthew Cunningham was called home by His Heavenly Father.    What rejoicing that must have been.   Matt for the first time  was walking, no probably running,  making that trasformation quicker than the blink of an eye into his new heavenly body. (he would never need that old mower again).   He knew what eternal life really means.  He is now there where there is no pain, suffering or tears.   Matt ever since his birth knew  hardship.  The Lord had sent the wonderful young man to earth with  a disability that would test any human being.  Yet Matthew was not going to let this "disabililty" stop him.  When others believed this young man would never walk, he knew different.   When his earthly father passed on, he stood strong.   He knew Jesus.  Every step he  took, Jesus was at his side.  "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly there I will rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, necessities, in perscutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong"  (2 Cor. 12: 9-10;  1 Cor. 1:3-4; 2 Cor. 9:8)

Matt told all of us at church that he was never going  to die.  He knew what he as talking about.  He had accepted Jesus as his Savior several years earlier.   On that Tuesday night after Matt's spirit left his earthly body, deep heart cries echoed out of that little room and into the house.  His family and loved ones were anxious, heartbroken,  and heavy laden.  But we know that Matt was saying "you've got to keep going, I'm already here waiting for you.  There's so much we can do when you get here.  Things we' were never ever able to do until now."    You see we have to continue to sing alleluia here on this earth because Matt is singing it in full security (no hurt or pain).    He says, you too,  are destined on this earth to die but here in Heaven life is for evermore.

We will continue to pray for all of Matt's family and friends (especially the ones he was praying for their salvation).  Because we know that Matt understands John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have EVERLASING LIFE!  "     " What a Day that will be" when we see Matt again and gaze into the eyes of  our Savior Jesus. the Christ.

Matt, we know you are rejoicing because on March 13, your Grandpa  Faulk  gave his heart to the Lord at 76 years young.    We know there is still rejoicing in heaven.
